The Pressure to be Thin, Pretty and Attractive

For girls, all throughout life there is a pressure to fit into the ‘perfect’ image that is projected by the media. We see it all around us. It seems that no matter how hard you try to ignore it, every you turn there is something says ‘be thinner,’ ‘wear more make up,’ or ‘buy our clothes.’ They make teens feel that if they do not conform to these standards that they will never get anything, never be popular, and never get the boy.The whole story can be found at http://socyberty.com/issues/the-importance-of-wildlife/ This is not an accurate assumption.

People that care about what brand clothes you wear or your rank on the popularity food chain are shallow. They may look cool now, but in the long run they turn as people you wouldn’t want to be friends with. These are the kind of people that go with the flow every time the grass looks greener on the other side.

Saying ‘be yourself’ may seem like the most cliche thing you hear during the years of middle school, high school, and college, but there is a reason for that. If you express yourself, truly, do things because you want to, wear things because you want to, and find activities you actually enjoy, it will be easy to find good friends that have acceptance in their hearts.
