Our History

This all started during a summer weekend in Chicago. Just us 3 girls. Hanging out, catching up on each others lives, going out every night and having a ball. I think that as a group we were a bit of a threat to Sheila's new "boyfriend potential". I think it was meant to be insulting when he kept referring to us as the "Girl Posse" - we took it to mean something more...

 We parted our ways at the end of that weekend (Bettie to Southern California, and me, Trixie, to Ohio) with the thought of Girl Posse on our minds. We knew that we couldn't be the only girls out there that found the teen and Gen X sites and information  too young for us, and the "mature female" sites and information too old...

...We thought "Maybe we can find other women, females, chicks, etc. out there that want to know fun places to go, cool places to hang out, but also want to talk about deeper issues and events..." those like us in that in-between "immature young" and "real mature old"...

...So we each came up with the idea of the Girl Posse website. We knew we were on to something when we each started calling each other and found out we all had the same idea. Of course Bettie in addition to working full time - is also in school right now - working toward her dream career. She still gives great ideas - and always shares her views, reviews and even advice at times. But there are still only 24 hours in a day. And that was the beginning...and here we now are.
