Don’t Fall For A Guy Friend

I broke the Golden Rule for falling for a guy that I am (was?) good friends with and then worked my courage up to tell him. I really thought that he had feelings for me because we could spend hours together in deep conversation. Somthing that I never had with any other guy I have dated. But once he realized my feelings for him, he didn't say anyhting one way or another. He did tell me that I had nothing to be embarrassed about and life was too short not to tell someone how you felt. Not only are my feelings hurt, but I am really confused. So my advice to everyone out there - DON'T BREAK THE GOLDEN RULE - NEVER TELL A GUY FRIEND YOU ARE ATTRACTED TO HIM.  It will only ruin the friendship.
