Lying to End a Relationship

This story has a bit of irony to it. It is more of a break up story though than anything else.

My boyfriend of a year and a half who I was madly in love with called me one day saying that his dad was dying and he had to go to see him for a while and he didn't know when he would be back. His dad lived all the way across the country. So, six weeks went by and he never called or emailed me or anything. I was still thinking that he was just visiting his dying father but when three months had gone by and I never heard from him and I tried to call him on his home phone and on his cell and I emailed him and he never responded I realized that he had ditched me in the most immature way possible. All he had to do was tell me that he didn't want to see me anymore but no he has to lie about someone dying.

The ironic part is that about two weeks after I realized he had left me my uncle really did die and I had to go to the mall to look for an outfit to wear to the funeral. While I was there feeling super depressed over everything guess who I saw? None other than my lying ex with another woman and the worst thing is he saw me and he completely ignored me. I was so shocked by this that I didn't say anything and just kept walking.

It has been almost a year but to this day I cannot believe that he had the nerve to do that to me. Just the week before he claimed his dad was dying he was talking about marriage. The moral of this story is that if you want to end a relationship just tell the other person. Lying does not save anyone from hurt. It just leaves the other person completely confused. I didn't do anything to deserve being treated this way.
