Your Ex's Friend - Can You Date Him?

When my boyfriend of over 3 years dumped me last week I went out at the week end and had a girls nite out. I happend to bump into a friend of his and I told him of our break up. He then went on to tell me that he has always liked me and that he wished that he could have been in a relationship with me. That nite we did kiss and cuddle and said we will meet up again soon, and have talked on the phone too. I really like the new guy but don't want to hurt my ex. and have them fall out with each other because of me. What will I do?
