As embarrassing as this is to admit; I was once dating a guy who I should not have been seeing. Only once you may be thinking. Well, this is my story, so I'll stick with that sentence for now. Why I was dating him I may never know. I was young, naive and liked his voice. We had been seeing each other for a couple of months. He seemed to like me. A lot. Every now and then he would talk about his son back east and I was very supportive, saying that maybe he should go back home and be with his son. Then one day the weirdest thing happened. He was at my place. We were hanging out. He said he had to go to the 7 Eleven on the corner and buy a pack of cigarettes. What is so weird about that you ask? He never came back. It doesn't only happen in the movies. The guy went out for cigarettes, but actually went to the bus station and headed back east. Worst of all, he went with my luggage and my camera. It took me a couple of days of worrying about him to find out what had happened. I still to this day can't believe it and luckily laugh about it.

I supported the idea of his leaving, so why couldn't he tell me? I would have given him the luggage if he needed it. Not the camera though. He did phone a few months later and asked if I'd take him back. That was even funnier than his leaving for smokes. I told him if I ever saw him again he would end up with two broken knee caps. I never did hear from him again.
