Well, well, well. The complete ignorance and blind devotion to a "cause" that some people have shown the past few weeks continue to astound me. We have received many e-mails regarding my letter below. Although we appreciate someone taking the time to write in, both in agreement and opposed, those that disagree seem to have one thing in common: they are unable to really state why they are so totally against the war in a concise and comprehensible manner. An example:

I read your war support and did not understand anything. Hitler invaded the Austrian, the Czechs and the Poles. Bush invades Iraq. Of course there is a similarity - between Hitler and Bush. Hitler made his people cheer for him, as Bush has done now. Bush is a terrorist, Hussein is not. Invading a country for changing its regime, is illegal and terrible.

Shame on you all.

Ay yi yi. I don't think he quite gets it. So here are some responses to that:
Hitler invaded the Czechs and the Poles; we defended the Czechs and the Poles. Hitler MADE his people cheer for him OR THEY WERE KILLED; People are cheering for Bush and the ones that protest ARE NOT BEING KILLED.

Hussein invades and when not cheered KILLS.

Bush and people world wide want a world where freedom and liberty mean something. That is why when our troops rolled into small pods close to Bagdad last night our troops were CHEERED by the people of IRAQ.

~Ann R.
Note: The above letter was written before the awesome display of support in Baghdad yesterday by the Iraqi people.
Hitler invaded to conquer and purge those nations of "less than perfect" peoples of many races and religious beliefs and this has nothing to do with occupation or religion. We are defending our country and 80 other countries that were attacked on 9/11. In addition are liberating an oppressed and tortured people who have the inherent right to live in a free society of their own choosing. Many of our young men and women are giving their lives to change the course of the future of the world. We have no intention of controlling their lives and they will not be murdered for the good of "the state", as were those under Hitler's command. How you can make any comparison is beyond belief.

~Karen H.

Well said.

We would like to take this chance to express our sincere support and thanks for our troops in Iraq. To my brother Stephen who is currently fighting: Be safe, kick some evil ass, and I hope to see you again soon.

I don't understand how people can protest the war and say they support our troops. If you truly supported our troops you wouldn't be doing your best to cause mass distraction. I think our military, police and general law enforcement have much better things to do right now than monitor your demonstrations. You also are not supporting our troops when you publicly decry the leader of our military, President Bush. No sane person wants war. Period. However, war is sometimes a bitter necessity in order for peace to prevail in the long run.

It is my firm belief, based on what I have seen and heard during these demonstrations, that most of these "anti-war" activists have either no idea what they are talking about and fighting against, or they are trying to recreate a romantic notion of what they believe happened during the 60's war protests. This is not Vietnam. This is not "blood for oil". This is a war fighting a person and his army that have the ability, the money, the weapons and the willingness to kill people all over the world. Men, women, children: it matters not to these people. They need to be removed from power, and it is only right that Iraq once again belongs to it's citizens.

I suppose if you were all alive in the 40's you would have protested the US involvement in World War II, and would staunchly believe that Hitler wasn't a threat either.

Shame on you all.

~Trixie
