Gifts You Can Make For Bathtime
Bath Fizzies

Great for gift giving for yourself or someone else. These bath fizzies sizzle in your tub and smell great.

You will need:

  • 1 tablespoon almond oil
  • 1 cup citric acid
  • 1 cup bicarbonate of soda
  • 20 drops of essential oil
  • (try lavender, jasmine, orange, lemon or any other great smelling scents)
  • A couple of drops of food coloring
    (your choice of colors)
  • Dried herbs or flowers (optional)

What you do:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Sift bicarbonate of soda and citric acid together into a mixing bowl
  • Add almond oil, essential oil, food coloring and dried herbs & flowers
  • Stir until ingredients are thoroughly combined
  • Spoon powder into molds. Try baking pans which you would normally use to bake cup cakes in or use fancy shape cake molds. Hearts look great.
  • Bake for 4 to 6 minutes
  • Leave to cool
  • Carefully tip bath fizzies out of mold. They are fragile, so use care
  • Store in a jar or wrap in celophane and tie with ribbon for a great looking gift
  • To top off the gift, write the ingredients on a gift card and attach to package.

You could also include usage instructions:

  • Run a warm bath. When you are ready to get into the tub, drop 1 or two bath fizzies in and watch them sizzle as a wonderful aroma is released. After pulling the bath plug, be sure to catch the dried herbs and flowers
before they can clog your drain.

Note: For a 'lift me up' combination, try adding grated fresh ginger and powdered cinnamon instead of essential oils.
