After Dark Phillip Margolin
This book is a blend of my favorites: courtroom drama, murder mystery and suspense novel. It also throws in a bit of romance which I don't really care ofr in a thriller - but it's kind of
important to the plot - so I'll let it slide. A clerk for an Oregon Supreme Court Justice is found murdered. Then the Justice himself is killed by a car bomb. When a well known
prosecutor, the Justice's ex-wife, is accused of the crime - she hires Matthew Reynolds - an infamous, yet eccentric defense attorney. The story
has some interesting twists and turns - and is in general pretty good. I liked the whodunit angle, but was a little disapponted by the why dunit. (Whydunit? Is that even a word?? Probably not. Oh well.)
But over all I'd recommend it. (Trixie, Aug. 1999)
