About the Book
glamour. access. scandal.
Ever wonder what your favorite pop divas are like AFTER the cameras stop rolling? What do they do behind closed doors? What are their parties like? What do they think about? What do they fight about? What do they really want? And who do they REALLY hook up with?
Kelly Kimball spent a summer as a backup dancer for Darcy Barnes, the biggest pop star in the world. Kelly's got the real story on Darcy, her life, her family, and her entourage -- and she's spilling it here for the first time. If you think the life of a superstar can't possibly be all it's cracked up to be, you're wrong. It's all that and more. And it's all inside Kelly's tell-all diary: Confessions of a Backup Dancer.
A story like Kelly Kimball's is UNSTOPPABLE. And once I got
started telling it, it's like Kelly Kimball took me over and I haven't been
able to slow her down yet. Especially because her story is this close to
"tabloid reality", and you can't be sure (and we can't say) if you're
reading a fiction or a real diary. Our lips are sealed.
Kelly is a talented, funny, whip-smart girl who is just
trying to play it cool and keep her head on straight-not to mention her
heart. And that's what makes Confessions of a Backup Dancer special, and
super relevant, in a market saturated with tell-all/expose/gossip
titles...Kelly's down-to-earth, real-person passion.
I picture people reading Kelly's story in flip-flops,
sunglasses, and tankinis. That chlorine smell from the pool will be in the
air. I expect Coppertone-stained copies to be passed from friend to friend
with an evil grin and a "You're not going to believe what's on page #X!".
Some copies may even be confiscated by parents and/or teachers. (Many of
whom will read it, I hope.) But however it's read, one thing is for sure:
Once begun, Confessions of a Backup Dancer doesn't the book doesn't just
close and end. It lives.

The Review
Fans of Gossip Girl, The A-List, etc - here's the next MUST-READ!!!! You'll be magically pulled into a world that most people only dream about... More fun than a party, juicier than a peach, and more entertaining than those E! True Hollywood stories. Confessions of a Backup Dancer will transport you behind the scenes, and into the heart and mind of someone in the "know". The style in which the book unfolds is very engaging. You will have a blast trying to "figure out" who the real-life star behind the story really is!
Even better, until July 15, 2004 you have a chance to win a copy of your very own!
