About the Book

About the Author
Gillian Kemp
I have been telling fortunes since the age of 12. I saw a ghost of a woman in my bedroom. I told my mother who showed me a photo of her mother asking if this looked like the ghost I had seen. It did. From that day, whether it was intentional or not, my mother put books in my Christmas stocking based on how to read fortunes. I began telling fortunes for girls at school and have continued reading fortunes ever since for friends and professionally.

I based my own actions on my intuition, an inner voice and feeling that says do or do not do something. By trial and error I have found it to be a truthful companion and recommend that everyone should be guided by their sixth sense.

Apparently my grandmother, Chester Allison who died when I was nine, lost her husband three years after my mother was born. To remain in contact with him, she went to a spiritualist church, regularly every Sunday. I had two aunts who could get a glass to move around a room by simply using their minds and I wish I could perform the same as a party trick!

My father, Michael Kemp was for many years a journalist on the London Daily Mail I like to think that I have inherited some of the best of my mother who was always intuitive and some of the best of my father who has always been a writer.

What I can do is say: "I wish so and so would telephone me" Always, within a couple of hours or a couple of days, who ever I have asked to contact me, does. Try it for yourself. It works.

I have not used web sites to research any of my books. To write THE GOOD SPELL BOOK I interviewed Romany gypsies who practice magic. To write THE LOVE SPELL BOX and THE FORTUNE TELLER'S BOOK, I used my own experiences as a fortune-teller and clairvoyant medium. At night before going to sleep I would ask for inspiration and in the morning, it came so I had something to write.

The Review
Everyone can use a little magic in their lives. This fun book has a variety of "love spells" which are easy to follow. I especially like the book itself - the artistic pages and seemingly handwritten notes throughout. I felt as if I were stealing a glimpse at Gillian Kemp's personal writings.
