The Interview

In Kelle's final moments of the show, she said that she could only take being humiliated so much, and had hit rock bottom. But put away the Prozac, this girl isn't shedding any tears over her elimination just yet. "I don't mind that I was eliminated." She explained to us that her idea of hitting "rock bottom" was more about her situation than her experience. "I had no friends or family around that I could talk to. Now I'm fine. I'm happy I was able to walk out with a smile." Leaving may have been difficult at that time, but Kelle is proud of herself for what she had achieved.

The road to being a reality TV star is different for everyone. Kelle's tale of getting on the show sounds easy. She had wanted to try modeling, and when her mom saw the ad, Kelle was encouraged to try. "I was #783 out of 1000. I got the call and the next thing I knew I was on a plane to LA."

Week after week Kelle was criticized by the judges. She had almost no modeling experience before joining the cast and found modeling to be harder than she initially thought. "I never modeled. I haven't been working as a model since leaving." But Kelle doesn't think of America's Next Top Model as a realistic modeling situation. "It is model boot camp. If you can make it through that, you can make it through anything."

When asked to describe a typical day, Kelle fell short of words. Production issues and secrets aside, we got the feeling that there wasn't a "typical" day on the show. She could confirm the fact that there was little time to eat or sleep. "The more girls there were, the longer the shoots could take. They could go on late. You wouldn't have time for dinner. You were grabbing snacks that you had."

Kelle did think that they would help the girls more than they did. "If I knew how to be a model I would've been one...." She gave a great example of how some guidance from the pros was beneficial, "Janice taught us how to pose, then I won the posing competition." Kelle seemed a little frustrated because she is such a confident girl. And she admittedly had to adjust from being so confident to being humble and admitting that she didn't know much about modeling. "I grew up years while on the show."

Kelle faithfully watches the show every week, and hasn't been surprised by any of the comments the judges made. "..because they were pretty mean in front of me." She thought she would be the one going home "just about every week. I think I was there so they could beat me up" Kelle laughed. We asked if there were any other eliminations that surprised her. "Not really. Yeah...no... not really." (And just what do the girls do while the judges are deliberating? "I slept." Did they really take that long. "Oh yeah.") She remains indifferent to who will go next and who will stay. Not that she didn't make friends with the girls or have fun. She stays in contact with Yaya, Toccara, Amanda, Ann and Eva.

Overall, Kelle would "definitely" do it all again. The experience made her stronger, and she has only one itsy bitsy thing she would change. "I wouldn't cry as much. I wouldn't cry at all. I don't cry that much." With the great people she met, the friends she made and "the drama - it was hilarious!" Kelle definitely leaves the show with a good attitude, as well as a word for her fans: "Thank you for supporting me. It is really nice to know there is that support out there." She is "still practicing" and will continue to pursue modeling. For now she is busy working at her art gallery, but it will only be a matter of time before she is once again in front of the cameras.

Kelle's Beauty Tip:

After applying lipstick, stick your finger in your mouth and pull it out. This will prevent lipstick from getting on your teeth.
