"AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL"
Cycle 4
BRITA ELIMINATED FROM UPN'S "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL"
Brita, a waitress from La Cañada, Calif., was the first girl eliminated from the fourth cycle of UPN's hit series AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, reducing the pool from 14 girls to 13.
After learning they would begin their journey as models in sunny Los Angeles instead of New York, as in previous cycles, the girls found themselves on the Paramount Studios backlot, where they were immediately transformed into "sexy aliens taking over Manhattan" for their very first photo shoot. This was also their first opportunity to work directly with judges Nigel Barker, Nolé Marin and Janice Dickinson as well as photo shoot stylist Jay Manuel. While many of the girls expressed a sense of nervousness and uncertainty, Brita seemed to be the most uncomfortable, becoming very self-conscious about her outfit and poses. "Brita, she really needs to learn to relax," Nigel Barker commented.
The girls were then introduced to their new Los Angeles loft, where they received a surprise visit from Tyra. The next morning, J. Alexander, expert runway trainer, arrived at the loft to take each girl's weight and body measurements. Brita again became insecure as she weighed in.
The next day, the girls found themselves at Privé salon, where each girl received a fabulous makeover to jumpstart their transformations into high-fashion models. Tyra and the judges were disappointed by the attitudes of Keenyah and Brandy, who continually complained about their new hairstyles.
Although Tyra had singled out the attitudes of Keenyah and Brandy as possible grounds for elimination, it was Brita's disappointing photos that led to her elimination from the running to become AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL.
This cycle, Tyra Banks once again leads the panel that will narrow the field of girls each week, as they take them into a high-pressure, high-stakes series of competitions that will determine the series winner. The world's first supermodel Janice Dickinson, renowned photographer Nigel Barker and Nolé Marin, an acclaimed fashion editor and stylist, also serve as judges.
The winner of UPN's AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL will have the opportunity to be managed by Ford Models. She will also receive a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl. Finally, the winner will appear in a fashion spread in Elle magazine.
The fourth installment of UPN's hit dramality series AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL follows 14 young women as they attempt to prove they have what it takes to make it in the high-stress, high-stakes world of modeling. Banks, who created the show, also serves as executive producer along with Ken Mok ("Making the Band"). Anthony Dominici ("The Amazing Race") serves as co-executive producer.
AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL airs Wednesdays, (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN. For more information about AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL log on to www.upn.com.
