The Interview
Sometimes things just aren't all they're cracked up to be.
That was the general feeling I got from Brita, the first eliminee from America's Next Top Model. This stunning beauty was booted off of the popular series for what the judges say was a lack of photogenic quality. But could it be she just didn't want to be there?
We started by asking Brita if her life had changed at all. Her blunt response? "Nope. Not at all. I've been in the business for a while now." But she fears the entire experience may hurt future modeling work, and is still regretting the experience "in a way".
"On the show you have to show legal documents, so they knew how old I was. None of my old agents knew my age. It may hurt future work. I don't know why that matters, but it does. It should be based on how you look. But that's the business. And some people will think that I'm not photogenic now, but I'm sure I can prove that wrong."
Yes - let's talk about her age. 25?!?!?! With the face of a teen. So how does she do it? "Yeah, my family has great genetics. What can I say." So there's no beauty secret, no special formula for younger looking skin? "I wash my face with regular bar soap. Oh - and I don't lay out. Never lay out!" OK - that sounds like good advice... I was just hoping for some magic potion or ingredient. Some people just have all the luck!
Brita always swore to her friends that she would never do reality TV. So why audition for a reality television show? "I didn't know. My bad. I had seen maybe 2 episodes." She explained that she saw the experience as an audition for a contract. "But they can do whatever they want. There are cameras 24/7. It wasn't like that for the 1st show. At the end of the day we could go back to our hotel rooms." Things quickly changed with the second episode.
So was there any good about being on the show? "It wasn't all bad," she quickly stated. "I did meet some friends. I wouldn't do it again......" So did her lack of enthusiasm for the "reality" of "reality TV" play a part in her elimination? "Absolutely. They asked if we wanted to be there, and......"
Well - we all know how that went now.
Being eliminated dashed any hopes of Brita winning, and scoring that Cover Girl contract. But did Brita have any other goals she wanted to accomplish? "More publicity. And higher pay rates."
With her old agents calling, Brita is continuing to model, and is still active in her acting and voice classes. I guess only time will tell if her other goals were accomplished.
