AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL CYCLE 4
Brittany

Name: Brittany
Occupation: Elementary School Instructional Aide
Age: 22
Hometown: Tallahassee, Fla.

The Interview

Brittany, with her larger than life personality and gorgeous looks received a lot of air time on this season's America's Next Top Model. We were able to speak to her (and she was exactly like we thought she would be - fun, spunky and nice) and get her thoughts on a few things....

On being famous:

"Oh yeah, it's great" she says in a part-sarcastic, part-joking manner. "I'm in Tallahassee. It really isn't a big deal here."

"It's really weird to see myself on TV"

Brittany explained it was like watching a movie where you already know the ending. "It's a little weird. I'm like, 'no!!!!!!!!. Shut your mouth' or 'Pull your skirt up' or 'Keep your butt out of the window.' My grandma just saw that. But my friends and family, they all know me. I get crazy. Everyone laughed."

About her modeling background:

Brittany has been modeling since she was 11. "Back when I had knobby knees, buck teeth, stringy hair, oily skin... nasty looking thing that shouldn't have even thought about modeling. But it's what I wanted to do forever. It's my passion. It gives me a high."

Years of modeling experience... An advantage?

"No. I do have a crazy, outgoing personality - that helped me. I don't think it [experience] hurt me. Christina and I talked about this.. how we thought we knew everything and didn't know anything at all." So what did she find surprising to learn? "My walk. I thought I had a good walk. I liked my walk. They told me I had to tone it down a bit. I have hips - birthing hips.. even in photo shoots I had to tone it down. Plus I have that pouty lip thing going. They told me that I already had the lips, I didn't have to make them pouty. I had to tone that down a lot!"

Her personality and "Party Girl" image:

"Yes. I'm not going to say 'oh - that's not like me at all." I definitely have a little crazy side. But it's not every night or every weekend. My boyfriend and I have a very boring life. We go to eat and watch movies. Netflix is our friend."

Favorite photo shoot:

"I love the mud thing. I panicked a bit. Everyone did. What do you mean we have to dress ourselves. I was getting my hairdonen, or maybe my make-up, I can't remember which. And I saw this mud puddle. So I jumped in. It was a really cool photo shoot."

Surprises and shockers:

Watching it all on TV now, we asked Brittany if she wassurprisedd by anything the judges said about her during the deliberations. "Not really. What I saw is what they said to my face. Nothing shocking." So what was surprising? "The double thing. That elimination surprised all of us. None of us knew." Yet Brittany said the only other elimination that surprised her was Rebecca's. "She tried really hard. So her elimination surprised me. But I knew people were getting kind of "aaaahhhhh" and ready to go home. So I wasn't really surprised by some."

Nerves, stress and panel days: "I'm kind of crazy anyway... but when I get nervous, especially when I'm nervous, the stress makes me freak out more. I get crazy when I'm nervous. Especially on panel days. They were awful. I can't describe how that felt." So what did the girls do while the judges were deliberating? "We all got along, so we would try to make jokes. Tried to be funny. Some girls slept just to not think about it. I did sometimes. Tried to catch little cat naps." So what was Brittany's biggest regret? "The only thing I regret is that I got nervous in panel too much. Let me tell you the reason why. They told me to tone it down. I don't know how to tone it down. I'm already a little crazy, and when my nerves kick in I go 'waaahhhhh'. So being nervous, holding back. Last night they said it looked like I was holding back. Hell yes I was holding back. They had told me to. I guess there's a fine line and I couldn't pin point it. I should have been me in the panel room the whole time. If I had beeneliminatedd because my personality was too much, well then....."

About her future...

"I was an instructional aide, but I chose not to go back after the show. I miss my kids dearly, I really do. My boss and I get along great. She watches the show with me sometimes. But I didn't want to go back. I didn't want them to know me in my off time, to get to know mepersonallyy. Like being at the mall and some kid coming up and saying 'Hey Brittany, I just saw your butt on TV' ya know? I really don't want them watching. I want to go back and visit. I really do. I miss them." So with her old job behind her, it's off to New York for Brittany. "I had gotten accepted to school for film and television in New York before the show. I had gotten an apartment in New Jersey already, still have an apartment in Jersey. But I'm moving to New York now. I'm definitely going forward. I love acting. I love showing my personality. That's what I love about being on a reality show. I got to show my personality. So I would love to pursue acting." Advice for future America's Next Top Model Contestants:

"Let go. Be yourself 100%. Don't be fake - they can see that. Be true to who you are. And have fun. It's hard work. It really is."

Final thoughts and words to her fans:

Please keep watching for me. It's not the last you've seen of me."
