Jamie’s Way

“Teen Angst in Baltimore and on the Web”

Jamie's Way is an online web drama digitally filmed in the Maryland area.  It is about a teenage girl dealing with the divorce of her parents while living in the chaotic jungle known as JUNIOR HIGH. Jamie is a child of the 90's, she has friends all over the world whom she communicates with over her computer (most of whom she has never met).  Her favorite pal, "The King of Yang" she suspects is a friend or relative.  He guides her through those rough moments in life, and celebrates the good times with her.

Jamie’s Way is one of a kind; a digitally filmed, independently produced teen web drama. This online series exclusively made for the web was created by 35 year old screenwriter, Elena Moscatt (graduate of Park School, and Goucher College).  After freelancing in the film industry for ten years in the craft services, and wardrobe departments, Elena felt left out of the creative process of film-making.  More than anything, she wanted to see some of her characters come to life on screen.  So she decided to do things herself, and created Jamie’s Way.

The 1st and 2nd episodes are on the web in both Real Player, and Media Player formats. There is also a bloopers section, actor bios, a fashion section where the kids can vote for future outfits for Jamie, and a live web cam that records behind-the-scenes activities.  Addicted fans visit often to  read the newest gossip and of course see the latest footage of anything they can. They send letters to the actors, sometimes even to the characters. Jamie's Way is a one of a kind web site.  www.jamiesway.com

The third episode of Jamie’s Way, titled “Tyler’s Way”, was written by and directed by 15 year old actor Matthew McClain. Matt, who plays Toby Jones in the show, Jamie’s love-interest, has always had an interest in scriptwriting.  He made a short animation when he was in Junior High called “Spare Change”. It can be seen on the Ifilm.net web site. Jamie’s Way was a much harder challenge for him, a cafeteria scene with over 30 people in it, rewriting the script last minute to match with the previous episode, and the episode to come, not to mention the editing, and finding original music for the show.  Matt will be appearing in the February issue of CosmoGirl Magazine as the “E-Male” of the month.

Jamie’s Way has been on the web now for over 2 ˝ years.  The fourth episode of Jamie’s Way introduces Jamie’s rock star Uncle Asher, and his band 1313. This should be filmed in the early months of 2001. The third episode will be on the web on November 20th. Don’t miss it!
