Comedian: J. Medicine Hat

Feb 20, 200
The Funny Bone
Easton Town Center,
Columbus, OH

If you have never seen a J. Medicine Hat show (which I hadn’t), then you are in for a surprising night of disbelieving comedy. (Of course if you have seen his show then you know that you’d never see the same show twice.) J. Medicine Hat isn’t just a comedian, he’s also a hypnotist. But not like any hypnotist you’d imagine. The self proclaimed convicted felon looks more like a drug dealing biker than a hypnotist. His gravely laugh is enough to send shivers down your spine. You’re already going to spend an evening with the man in a darkened room. Would you really want to trust your psyche with him when he asks for volunteers to get up on the stage to be hypnotized?

You’re darn-tootin’! I went up immediately. After all, he said that very few people would stay on the stage. For those that did remain throughout the show, he was willing to leave them with something to help. Whether it was to lose weight, stop smoking, etc., he would help you out.

Well, either I was a poor hypnotizing subject, or my location closest to the stairs off the stage made for an easy exit. But I wasn’t one of the chosen few. Thank god! When all was said and done only one person remained on the stage for the entire show. He was OUT! This poor guy did some of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen. I can only imagine what he thought when he finally remembered that he had given birth, acted like a male prostitute, became a male stripper and more. There was no faking it with this guy. Nobody could have kept a completely straight face while J. Medicine Hat had the crowd roaring with laughter.

If this talented comedian comes to your neighborhood, grab your friends and catch his show. If you’re feeling cruel, send your friends up on stage. They may become part of a comedic show that you’ll never forget.
