The Basic Lowdown:
Girlposse.com: Who are you?
Tarah: Tarah Prater
Girlposse.com: Where are you located?
Tarah: Seattle, WA
Girlposse.com: What is your creation / business?
Tarah: Handmade beaded and sterling silver jewelry
Girlposse.com: Where can people buy your stuff?
Tarah: Online at www.tarahpraterdesigns.com, www.mycicy.com, & Casablanca Bridal Boutique in Redmond, WA. Hopefully there will be more to come very soon.
Girlposse.com: How long have you been doing this?
Tarah: I have been beading since I was a kid. I started working with silver in college after taking a jewelry design class- I fell in love with it!
Girlposse.com: Tell us something about yourself - your personality:
Tarah: Well, I am always go-go-going. I don't like to be bored, so I try and stay entertained. I enjoy being with friends and going out. I like to talk, a lot! I am honest and very sincere, and like to be around people who share those traits. Last but not least, I am motivated and persistant when it comes to my work. I want to be the Kate Spade of jewelry.

Now for the rest of the scoop.......
Girlposse.com: What finally inspired you to offer your goods to the world?
Tarah: People always asking me "where did you get that?", I figured it was time to start selling my stuff to others. So far so good.
Girlposse.com: What was (is) your biggest obstacle in selling what you create?
Tarah: Parting with it. Alot of my original pieces were one of a kind and sometimes it is very hard to actually sell them. I get attached to some items and just don't want to let go. I always do though, well... most of the time.
Girlposse.com: How do you come up with your ideas?
Tarah: I'm not sure really, they just come to me when I start beading. Sometimes I sketch, so some of my pieces come from sketches I have done. For the most part, I just sit down and start till I get something I like.
Girlposse.com: What keeps you going on a bad day?
Tarah: My friends, my boyfriend, and my very large dog, Reagan. I have a very sweet german shepherd/akita mix dog that is always happy. Only bad thing is, she has eaten many necklaces and a few hundred dollars worth of beads. Sometimes she gets jealous of my beading time...
Girlposse.com: Where are some of your favorite places to shop?
Tarah: Bebe, Anthropology, Uwajimaya, any bead shop, craftybitch.com (I just bought the cutest purse from her), mycicy.com.. There are so many fun stores out there, I don't think I could list them all. Just know that I love to shop!
Girlposse.com: What was the best piece of advice you've been given?
Tarah: Always be persistant.
Girlposse.com: What advice would you give to a future Crafty Diva?
Tarah: Don't give up. If your craft makes you happy then keep on doing it. It's tough getting your stuff out there but eventually it will pay off.
Girlposse.com: Any additional thoughts or comments you'd like to share with the world?
Tarah: Do what makes you happy! Life is to short
Girlposse.com: Are they any other Crafty Divas or Entrepreneurial Empresses we should know
about?
Tarah: There are so many, I have alot of them linked on my website at www.tarahprater.com/jewelry/links.html
