Bloody Sunday
Directed by: Paul Greengrass
Starring: James Nesbitt, Tim Pigott-Smith, Nicholas Farrell, Gerard McSorley, Cathy Kiera Clarke
The story line for this movie was excellent. A look into the peaceful civil rights march of January 30th, 1972, which turned into a blood bath when soldiers from the British Army's 1st Parachute Regiment opened fire on unarmed civilian demonstrators in Derry, Ireland. Thirteen peaceful demonstrators where killed and many one British soldier was hurt. Who hasn't heard the song, Bloody Sunday which was inspired by this horrific day?
This movie needs to be made and the story told, but unfortunately this movie really didn't do the trick. It was an amateur production at best with home movie style camera work and poor sound quality.
I was very disappointed in this movie and would not recommend it to anyone. I do hope someone tells the story and educates the public with a better quality film.
