Cathy Richardson Band
Road to Bliss

Release Date: December 2003

The Review

The wonderfully quirky packaged Road to Bliss is even more delightful on the inside! Upon first listen I immediately thought Susan Tedeschi, Melissa Etheridge, Lisa Marie Presley with a dash of Ani DiFranco*. Throw them all in a blender, add some original secret spices and out comes the talented Cathy Richardson Band.

By the 4th or 5th listen, I was hooked. The songs are a blend of rockin' pop (or maybe pop-y rock) and ballsy heartfelt confessions. The songs "Picture This" and "I've Changed" quickly wormed their way into my subconscious and I found myself singing them to myself later in the day. And not in an annoying, commercial-jingle-stuck-in-my-head kind of way. A good sign. In fact - I listened to the CD for about 4 hours straight. A great way to start my year!

I can't say enough how much I highly recommend this CD for your collection!

~Trixie, January 2004

(*Although I don't like to compare artists to other artists - music is such a unique medium when it is great - it is the best way to describe a sound that you, the reader, aren't hearing. And though this CD brought these people to mind it doesn't at all mean that I think Cathy Richardson is a carbon copy of any them. Not at all. What I like about her songs and vocals are the same things I like about the artists listed above.)
