American History X
Starring: Edward Norton, Edward Furlong Directed by Tony Kaye
Edward Norton's portrayal of a Neo-Nazi-turned-good was definitely worthy of the Oscar that he was nominated for.
Norton plays Derek - a good kid that becomes a white supremicist after his father is killed. His fall into hate and destruction results in his imprisonment for manslaughter. While in prison he begins to
question his beliefs and the people he's been following. After a brutalizing experience he decides to live a completely different life - but is faced with a little brother (Furlong) that is trying
desperately to follow in his brother's Nazi footsteps.
American History X shows the distorted views that these racist idiots hold true and dear - while showing their true colors. A bit violent
and difficult to watch during some scenes - but must-see just the same. (Trixie, Nov. 1999)
