Coyote Ugly

Although entertaining - this is not the movie I thought it would be. Call me crazy, but I was kind of assuming it was a movie about a bar called "Coyote Ugly" and the people that worked there. I expected the bar to be the focus of the movie, otherwise why name the movie after it? Unfortunately the bar is only in the movie for a couple of scenes. They're the most entertaining scenes of the movie - women bartenders with attitude dancing on the bar and assaulting the patrons who keep begging for more, but in reality it's not the main focus of the movie.

The movie is typical in many senses. It has the recquired romance...girl meets a guy, plays hard to get, they finally get together, break up then get back together. It has the family tension: dad doesn't want good daughter in big bad New York, loses all respect and stops speaking to daughter when he sees her work environment, dad has accident and daughter rushes back and they make up. Lastly it has the girl-folowing-big-dream angle. If you're looking to be entertained by hot chicks in tight clothes - this is the movie for you. You just have to sit through a lot of other "chick-flick" stuff in between. Girls: grab your guy and take him to see it. They'll love you for it, and you just may be entertained yourself. Just don’t have any high expectations.
