Summer of Sam
Although this movie wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be, I actually liked it. It was a lot more about sex than I had thought. (A lot more.) I had assumed it would be mostly about
the Son of Sam himself- and although he provides the backdrop to the entire movie - it's actually about how people acted and reacted to the killings during that summer. It was pretty intense at times -
but I think Spike Lee did a great job of capturing a lot of the paranoia that must have been felt. The actors were great (even Mira Sorvino didn't completely bug the sh*t outta me like she usually does).
Now if Spike Lee would just stay behind the camera instead of in front of it. The guy can't act at all. (Trixie, July 1999)
