Summer of Sam

Although this movie wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be, I actually liked it. It was a lot more about sex than I had thought. (A lot more.) I had assumed it would be mostly about the Son of Sam himself- and although he provides the backdrop to the entire movie - it's actually about how people acted and reacted to the killings during that summer. It was pretty intense at times - but I think Spike Lee did a great job of capturing a lot of the paranoia that must have been felt. The actors were great (even Mira Sorvino didn't completely bug the sh*t outta me like she usually does). Now if Spike Lee would just stay behind the camera instead of in front of it. The guy can't act at all.
