The Green Mile
Wow! What an emotional, thought provoking movie which contains enough levity and good deeds, to keep the viewer from getting too weepy. Set in Louisiana in 1935, this story
tells the tale of the head prison guard, (played by Tom Hanks), of cell block E, death row (also known as the mile), who is captivated by a screen filing prisoner (played by Michael Clarke Duncan), who
he learns is innocent, yet is unable to prevent the prisoner's eventual death. David Morse plays his role superbly as one of the prison guards and teams up with Tom Hanks to provide a powerful duo.
Michael Clarke Duncan plays a gifted, not so bright prisoner who is accused of raping and murdering two young girls, yet the gentle giant could never do such a thing. A three hour movie which is not
to be missed and take along a couple of tissues! (Sheila, Feb. 2000)
