The Limey
From the 1999 Toronto International FIlm Festival Starring: Terence Stamp, Lesley Ann Warren, Luis Guzman, Barry Newman, Peter Fonda. Directed by Steven Soderbergh.
Sheila had some
work to attend to, so I was off to the theater on my own for this one. I had heard a lot of good buzz about "The Limey", but I guess I just didn't get it.
The story is about a father
(Wilson) who flies to Los Angeles to avenge his daughter's death. Once there he plays the hero and starts shooting bad guys. Not a very original storyline.
One interesting aspect of the film was
how they'd taken old film footage of Terence Stamp and incorporated it in flashback scenes of Wilson as a younger man. But that in itself is not worth seeing the movie. Unless of course you happen to be
a huge Terence Stamp fan. (Trixie, Sept. 1999)
