The Messenger - The Joan of Arc Story

This movie was entertaining.
It's always good to learn some history.  It was, of course, set along time ago during the life of Joan of Arc.  It was all in english; the french had American accents and the english had cockneyed english accents (sort of unrealistic). It was very bloody and gory; always some fresh blood whenever you needed it.  The actress who played Joan, while very pretty, was not that great. She was pretty wild, she lacked true emotion.  However, there was also John Malkovich (strange as usual) and Dustin Hoffman. Some of the special effects were neat.

If you haven't already seen this than maybe you should wait til video (what with the prices of movies skyrocketing).
(Bettie, Dec. 1999)
