Wayward Son
From the 1999 Toronto International Film Festival Starring: Harry Connick, Jr., Pete Postlethwaite, Patricia Clarkson, Vinessa Shaw. Directed by Randall Harris.
Great acting
from a wonderful cast who shone on screen. Harry Connick, Jr. shone off screen at the screening too.
The story line was intense and kept my interest from start to finish. A young man wrongfully
imprisoned in the 1920s/30's is released, only to find that most people are keen to keep him down. He does find hope in a father and daughter who he helps bring together to create a feeling that there is
hope for humanity in society.
Catch it at the movies if it comes your way. (Sheila, Sept. 1999)
This was a real feel-good type movie. The story was very sweet and had a strong message of morality, integrity, and doing the right thing. First-time director Randall Harris did a wonderful job with
drawing the characters out of the actors in a natural way. Harry Connick, Jr. played the part of Jesse with a natural patience that showcases his flair for not just acting - but breathing life into
his character. (Trixie, Sept. 1999)
