Exile on Coldharbour Lane
A3

I can only describe this album as techno-blues with a hint of country gospel twang. I have just two complaints with this CD: that it is the only CD that A3 has come out with (as far as I know), and that it took me so long to discover it’s funky beats.

I was inspired to buy this CD because of “Woke Up This Morning”, the theme song from HBO’s The Sopranos. After I had bought that soundtrack, I immediately ordered this CD. I was not disappointed. The original rendition of “Woke Up This Morning” is slightly slower paced than the theme song version, and is prefaced by a monologue remembering great blues artists with a strong, funky beat in the background. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the remaining songs on Exile on Coldharbour Lane reflect a different musical flavor, branching out into many musical genres while keeping with the techno flair. “The Night We Nearly Got Busted” is nearly my favorite song on the CD. It’s a toss-up between that and “U Don’ Dans 2 Tekno Anymore”.

If you’re tired of the bubble gum pop currently pounding the airwaves and are looking for some real original, musically inspired music, this CD is a must-have for your collection.
