Restaurant Reviews Los Angeles and Vicinity
Sonora Cafe 180 S. La Brea, Los Angeles, CA ph: 323 857 1601
Touted as one of LA's newest trendy spots, this restaurant caters mostly to the sea food
loving crowd. For the vegetarian, there are a wide array of salads to choose from. Many of which include Stilton cheese, which the waiter assured me was the 'in' cheese. Basically it is
blue cheese with a fancy name. The goats cheese enchiladas were great, as were the desserts.Courtney Cox, David Arquette and one of his sisters were amongst the
diners on this evening in April, 2000. My bet is that they received much better service than we did. The waiter literally didn't come back to our table from the
time we ordered our food until it was time for the check. I received a salad different from what I ordered, and tried to tell the wait staff who was clearing the
table, but he didn't speak a word of English. I didn't get a chance to tell our waiter until the end of the entree course. Service was slow. I didn't realize until
dining at this restaurant, that salads take 45 minutes to prepare. Nice restaurant, slow service (unless you are famous or act like you are), reasonable
prices for a nice night out. Count on approximately $40 per person for appetizers, entrees and dessert. Valet parking is available. I won't be going back there, but you may have better luck than I.
