In Response to Tragedy
Our Girlposse.com Members speak out on the events of September 11, 2001

This is my feelings poetic style:

AND THEY TRIED

Unknown terrorists tried
to still our nation
By destroying the World Trade Center's Twin Towers
and the Pentagon too
But if they only knew
Sure it would make us mad
But it would make us strong
As we do all we must to right this wrong
Against our people
Unnecessary loss of lives
Pain and sorrow
Still we take it all in stride
Our prayers go out to families and friends
Of those who met their unfortunate end
We commend those who are working hard
Trying to find those still alive
Stressing as they throw debris and stones aside
Finding death and ruin within
What a horror, what a sin
Who could commit such an act?
Upon America - a sneak attack
If they want to fight
Then fight us up front
and fight us fair
Meeting us head on - not from the rear
Not taking innocent lives of those
who did nothing to you
The buildings can be rebuilt if we care to
But our spirits, our pride, our togetherness
Still exists - we still breathe
And you tried
But we still do not run and hide
We still go on
We still remain free
Our Red, White and Blue still flies high
For all the world to see
And yesterday on Tuesday, September 11, 2001
Through it all, God Still Blessed America
And we still move on!
