In Response to Tragedy
Our Girlposse.com Members speak out on the events of September 11, 2001

My name is Sara, I'm 14 and I live in England. I know it doesn't affect me so much at the moment, but people are talking about World War 3...!? I know this has all been a nightmare for everyone, and it makes me angry that these people are getting away with it. But retaliating isn't going to fix the problem. Bombing Afghanistan or whatever can't solve it! There are innnocent people there too!

Think about the consequences if there WAS to be another world war. ok, so people have been killed as a result of this. But how many MORE will die if there's a war? do you want to die? do you want all your family and friends to die? If America fights back, it won't end here. Just like the other 2 wars, there'll be alliances. And this time, people have more advanced equipment. The whole world will be in chaos. who will stop the fighting then? Life as we know it, maybe even life on this planet, would be destroyed forever.

We can't bring back the dead, but we can protect the living. Stand up and be heard. Fight for your right to global peace. Age isn't important. We all live in this world and we all have rights.

But please, don't tell me we can't do anything about it. I'm sick of hearing about what we can't do. With a little help from God, we can do anything.
